Overview

Headline Capitalization ("we," "our," or "the site") is a free online tool for capitalizing headlines and titles. We take your privacy seriously and want you to understand exactly what data we collect and how we use it.

The short version: we collect minimal, anonymous analytics data. We don't collect personal information, and the text you type into our tool never leaves your browser.

How the Tool Works

All headline capitalization happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The text you enter is processed locally on your device and is never sent to our servers or any third party. We cannot see, store, or access anything you type into the tool.

The site includes a "Share via URL" feature that lets you create a link containing your headline text as a URL parameter. If you use this feature, the headline text becomes part of the URL. Anyone with that link can see the headline, and the URL (including the headline text) may appear in server access logs, browser history, or analytics data. Only use the share feature with text you are comfortable making visible in a URL.

Information We Collect

Analytics Data (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how people find and use the site. This service collects anonymous, aggregated data such as:

• Pages visited and time spent on the site
• General geographic region (country or city level)
• Browser type and device category (desktop, mobile, tablet)
• How you arrived at the site (search engine, direct link, referral)

Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish unique visitors. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.

Server Logs

Like most websites, our web server automatically records basic access logs that may include your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. These logs are used for security monitoring and are not shared with third parties.

• Recent Headlines - the last 10 headlines you copied, so you can quickly access them again. This data never leaves your browser.

You can clear all local storage data for this site at any time through your browser settings. The tool works the same way with or without this data.

Third-Party Services

Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted. Server logs are rotated and deleted on a regular schedule.
